Here's the most popular
question my customers have asked me before they
purchased their vacation certificates. What
follows explains why you are able to purchase the
vacations for such a low cost.
How
can you do this?
Most hotels, cruise lines and even
airlines run a 60% to 70% occupancy rate.
This is where the travel agencies come in.
They are able to fill the balance with travelers
on certificates which offer the hotels a few
things: Full Occupancy, Free Exposure,
Profit on items purchased by the consumer,
etc. They would rather have this than go
without having the vacancies filled. Most
of the resort areas and governments offer
subsidies to hotels that keep high occupancy
rates as it is good for the local economy.
So the hotels offer these incentives and hope to
make it up when the traveler buys food,
etc. They also hope that the customer comes
back for a full price visit as well. The
cost is very little to actually have our
travelers there as they will be flying the plane,
cruising the cruise ship, or have the room
anyway, so that is the real cost? Not much
as the other vacationers are helping pay for it
too. When you think about it, this really
makes sense. Statistics show that travelers
spend $300 to $1000 while on vacation, this is
why they offer these programs.
